Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you use personality.fyi without signing in, we don’t collect any personal information. Your type selection is stored in your browser’s localStorage on your device only — it never leaves your computer.
If you create an account (required only to save results, unlock the AI features, or participate in polls), we collect:
- Email address (from the sign-in OTP code you request)
- Your MBTI type (once you set one, to personalize the app)
- Usage data for paywall gating: credit balance, number of AI interactions, Stripe customer ID if you subscribe
- Poll responses (in the Never Have I Ever feature) — always anonymous in the aggregate, never tied to your identity in any public output
We do not collect IP addresses, browsing history, or any third-party tracking data. We do not sell or share your data.
Who has access
Your data is stored in Supabase (a managed PostgreSQL database) and Stripe (for payment processing, if you subscribe). We do not share it with anyone else. Individual-level poll responses are never shown to other users — the “73% of ENTPs have” aggregated results you see never expose individual voters.
AI interactions
When you use Career Planning, Ask a Type, Compatibility analysis, or any AI-powered feature, your message is sent to a third-party large-language-model provider for processing. Your message content is subject to that provider’s privacy policy. We do not store the content of your AI conversations on our servers.
How to delete your data
Email hello@personality.fyi from the address on file and we’ll delete your account, credit balance, subscription, and all associated data within 7 days. You can also cancel your subscription at any time; once the billing cycle ends, you’re done.
Cookies and tracking
We use localStorage to remember your selected type, inbox state, and auth session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that identify you.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we’ll update the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
